Amsterdam Innovation Motor
Amsterdam Innovation Motor (AIM) was established to maintain and consolidate the trendsetting position of the Amsterdam region in the knowledge economy.

AIM wishes to promote innovation, cooperation and new business in the Amsterdam region. To do so, it focuses on the development of the five sectors that are the most promising in terms of strengthening the position of the region, namely:
- Creative industries
- ICT
- Life sciences
- Sustainability
- Trade and logistics

The AIM functions as a facilitator to promote mutual cooperation between knowledge institutions, commerce and industry, and government and social organisations in the Amsterdam region. For more information, have a look at www.aimsterdam.nl

Novay
Novay (formerly known as Telematics Institute) is the national ICT research centre of the Netherlands. Novay is a unique partnership of organizations from business, science and governmental agencies. It initiates, develops and introduces innovative ICT solutions through multi-partner projects carried out in industries such as healthcare, commercial and public services, manufacturing and ICT. Novay’s objective is to rapidly bundle the scientific knowledge of research institutes and the know-how of businesses and translate it into market-oriented ICT technologies, applications and solutions.

Novay has extensive experience in developing and leading large-scale multi-partner RTD programmes such as the Dutch Freeband Communications Program (on advanced mobile networks and services and applications in various areas). Novay has participated in several European R&D projects, such as MyMedia, Corelabs, SPICE, MobiLife and AMIGO. For more information, have a look at www.novay.nl

Waag Society
Waag Society develops creative technology for social innovation. The foundation researches, develops concepts, pilots and prototypes and acts as an intermediate between the arts, science and the media. Waag Society cooperates with cultural, public and private parties.

Waag Society divides its activities in five social domains:
- Healthcare
- Culture
- Society (public domain)
- Education
- Sustainability

Waag Society works with the method of Creative Research. Creative Research is experimental, interdisciplinary research and often uses the creation of physical artefacts to enable and enhance the research process. Artists, creatives and end users have a central position and a large influence on the final result: Users as Designers.

The main areas of research for Waag Society are: development of knowledge and dissemmination, inspiration and the creation of new pilot projects. These cultural interventions and projects will eventually lead to social innovation in the context of the Amsterdam Living Lab. For more information, have a look at www.waag.org
