Amsterdam Living Lab: User Driven design
Amsterdam Living Lab has started in 2008 with the goal to help companies to test new products in a real user environment. User interaction is nowadays part of the design process and ALL means to facilitate this.
The Amsterdam Living Lab is supported by the City of Amsterdam, the Province of Noord-Holland, Stadsregio Amsterdam and the Ministry of Economic Affairs. The project is executed in close cooperation between the Amsterdam Innovation Motor, Novay, University of Amsterdam and Waag Society. In the current projects several companies are involved like: Logica, Far West, Accenture and NUON.
A strong connection exists towards Europa with other Living Lab initiatives. The people behind the Amsterdam Living Lab are member of the policy council of the European Network of Living Labs and are also involved in the i2Cat Living Lab in Barcelona and have close ties to Forum Virium in Helsinki. Other involved cities are Rome, Stockholm, Paris and Brussels. From the European Committee a keen interest is in the leading role Amsterdam is willing to play in the Living Lab movement. This leads to an excellent position to acquire extra funding for innovation from the European Committee.
